THE STORY

The late 19th century saw the rise of the world’s first garments designed for sporting activities. British tailoring houses began to elevate the classic trouser beyond its old military origins, to an article of clothing committed to both exceptional comfort and sartorial self-expression.

During the 1920’s and post World War era the convergence of function and fashion gave birth to advanced wintersport clothing. Catering to those well-to-do jetsetters and winter sport enthusiasts of the Alps, the proper ski trouser’s slim proportions and natural wool material complexion adhered to the high street fashions of the times.

Traditional and contemporary, with deference to the tailors of winter sport’s past, the Alpine Winter Trouser is designed with a combination of classic tailoring and waterproof protective technologies. A Forged Performance staple of the Gentleman Skier's wardrobe, the Alpine Winter Trouser is a nostalgic ski pant infused with technical attributes delivering maximum comfort, warmth, and durability for winter sport recreation.

Tops

These pants are rarefied and represent the very top in terms of combining style and rigor. They are not for summer weather, but as things cool down they represent for me a rain/snow/hiking pant that one can wear in urban settings and even cocktail parties…receiving rave reviews.

I love everything about the trousers. I have been skiing by -15° and was warm throughout the day. And in style!

Alpine Winter Trousers

This was my first purchase from Alps & Meters, and certainly won't be my last. Very impressed with the quality - full of well thought out details and the materials are first class. The team at Alps & Meters HQ were excellent too. All in all, a well-recommended bit of kit.

Excellent quality

Phenomenal ski pants. Nice construction, materials and details. What I don’t like is that there is only one inseam size. I am 5’7”tall and inseam is the same for someone who is 6’2” tall. Almost returned them, but decided to keep as they don’t actually hit the floor.

Retro pants

Great style, well constructed.

Ordered size large to acommodate bashpants and fleece long johns which they do admirably. Slightly long for my height but allow for bending when picking oneself up from the deck after embarrasing tumbles. Fit snowboard boots well.
