Upholding classic construction

The storied 10th Mountain Division of the United States Army was originally commissioned as the 10th Light Alpine in 1943. Initially conceived by Charles Minot Dole, President of the National Ski Patrol, and trained at Camp Hale, Colorado USA under the direction of mountaineer Jim Whitaker, the first American to summit Mount Everest. The 10th was the first elite skiing force of its kind, focused upon winter and mountain combat during WWII.

A timeless, tested, and authentic winter garment, the Alpine Anorak is designed to deliver exceptional quality and comfort while upholding the classic alpine traditions of the past.

Forged Performance

Constructed of a fortified British Millerain waxed canvas exterior and internal 10k/10k waterproof membrane, the Alpine Anorak delivers traditional mountain protection through the fusion of classic garment design and first class natural materials.

Built to Last

The Alpine Anorak was designed to last for years, in the hopes that the piece will begin to feel like an old friend. Waxed canvas ages beautifully, becoming patinaed, textured, and relaxed, holding onto memories of ski trips past long after the snow has melted.

Great jacket

It is a great jacket. I wore it last Sunday at Mt. Hood. It was perfect for spring skiing with a base layer and the vents slightly open. I had several people compliment the jacket and wanted to know about Alps. and Meters. I included a short video as well as the spring skiing rig for fun.

High Quality and Great Fit

The canvas is nice and heavy without being bulky or rough to the touch. It fits my helmet well and the mouth cover/built in mask is a nice touch. The accent orange colors are really sharp (and match my Technica boots!). Anecdotally, I managed to get a huge spot of greasy dirt on the back of the jacket from my local mountain's lift the first day I wore the jacket. I was wrecked thinking I had ruined the jacket but a stiff bristle brush, warm water and standard dish detergent lifted it out - completely. A quick respray with water repellent and it looks like it did when it came out of the box. A similar polyester shell would have certainly been ruined with a permanent stain.

Note: Not great for super cold days as it is cotton. But layering under is easy based on the cut.
