The U.S. National Ski Patrol was formed at Stowe, Vermont in 1938 by Charles “Minnie” Dole, who preached the creed of “Safety & Service” among this pioneering group, and later was responsible for the establishment of the famed 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army, whose veterans came to found many of the US' most iconic ski resorts.

An homage to the military background of those first patrollers, the Patrol Bomber is designed for those adventurous souls embracing the dangers and low temperatures of high alpine environments, in the name of winter safety and service. The unparalleled quality and craftsmanship of the Patrol Bomber's natural shearling lining and full-grain leather exterior make the Patrol Bomber a one-of-a-kind alpine sport jacket providing first class quality and maximum protection for downhill flight.

Designed by Tradition

Dole’s patrollers, whether of a civilian or military background, demanded of their outerwear an uncompromising level of protection and utility so as to allow for total range of motion and warmth while conducting dangerous safety-related mountain maintenance activities. Inspired by these individuals and the tradition of the National Ski Patrol, Alps & Meters has created the Patrol Bomber, a Forged Performance interpretation of classic skiwear for the Patrollers of yesterday and today.
