During the early 20th century, skiing became the infatuation of gentlemen intrigued by the wonderful novelty and sliding on snow. In its transition from an efficient mode of winter transportation to exciting new recreational activity, skiers of the era, beyond a pair of leather boots and wooden skis, took little time to modify their head-to-toe wardrobes for use on-mountain. The 30s 40s and 50s were decades of smart wardrobes comprised of posh layers of collared shirts, knitwear, and woolen trousers that differed in only a minor manner from the high street fashions of the times.

Within the early annals of the U.S. Ski Team, whose first association was formed in 1905 in Ishpeming, Michigan, classic skiing ensembles often included an oxford or flannel shirt with cuffed sleeves which conveyed skiing’s then leisurely nature and the handsome appearance of its well-to-do enthusiasts. It is in this spirit that Alps & Meters has designed the Touring Oxford U.S. Ski Team.

Built with a rich leather Land Rover U.S. Alpine Ski Team logo at left shoulder, tailored elements enhancing functional fit, and thoughtful use of contemporary technologies, this stylish shirt provides mountain-travel comfort and protection for the amateur or professional American Skier, passionate supporter, or enthralled American winter recreational enthusiast.

Great shirt!

Great Apres' Ski wear! Really love the fabric, cotton/wool blend. In the cream color, has a lot of textural interest without being obnoxious. Notes: Pretty standard fit, make sure the A&M that you check the sizing for EACH item you are considering. The fit really does vary by item. Also, this is an Oxford cloth, so best with a light colored tee underneath. Collar is more of a shorter, modern style. 6'2", 195 lbs, 35" waist and 44" chest--large fits perfectly without being boxy or too snug. I highly recommend!
