Merino-Cashmere Blend

Turtlenecks or “roll necks” came into prominence at the turn of the 20th century, delivering a unique combination of maximum warmth, comfort, and range of motion ideal for cold weather labor.

During the post-WWII era in the United States, sportswear emerged for the sport of skiing, primarily born to the Western region of the United States. With workwear and military dress informing much of the dress for alpine sport, the turtleneck became a staple layer of clothing for the high west rustlers of the Rockies cutting the first trails on iconic mountains such as Vail, founded by 10th Mountain Division veteran, Pete Seibert, and local rancher Earl Eaton.

Delivering tried and true warmth characteristic of its original intention, Alps & Meters’ High West Turtleneck is crafted from a soft merino-cashmere blend that perfectly balances ruggedness and refinement for the gentleman skier, whether on-piste or fireside during après ski.

Overall Great

I really like it and it is a beautiful sweater. That said, I didn’t have a sense of the texture until I received it and the weight of the sweater is not as heavy as other sweaters I have purchased from you. All in all pleased but it was a bit different than my expectations.

Surprisingly luxurious

I was really surprised at how soft this piece is. It feels luxurious and warm. They must have changed the type of yarn from the older waffle tops because this is so much softer. I would get a size down from your normal size since it tends to run big.
