Why the 5 Stars:
The wool fabric and the mesh lining on this item is outstanding. I mean the best. It was comfortable, seemed like it would breathe well and be warm but not stifling. Gives an active/athletic feel to it. The additional arm and shoulder panels also give a sporty vibe--really cool with the two arm patches, a choice of embroidered or leather.
The asymmetric zipper is cool, but starts to create practical problems if you don't wear it zipped. If worn open it creates an oddly-weighted feel and gap in front. I think the designers realized this, because there is a wide snow panel behind the zipper that attempts to even out the sides a bit. It's a good idea, but because the panel is lighter fabric than the shell there is still an off-weighted feel to it unless it's worn zipped up. Suggestion for A&M: Give it a powder skirt underneath. This would help anchor the jacket weight allow it be worn open without leaning. Better yet, just put the zipper in the middle.

For all the athletic appeal of the construction, the fit is not athletic. It's a square, boxy cut. I'm sure it fits others, but it does not fit me. For reference, I got size large. I'm 6'2", 44" chest, 35" waist, 34/35" sleeve for dress shirts. The fit was perfect through the shoulders, a bit wide through the stomach, and a tad short in the arms.
A couple of other suggestions: put powder cuff liners and make adjustable cuffs. I have the '27 downhill parka from A&M and it has…
