Designed by Tradition

It’s no secret that natural fibers, such as the custom Shetland wool garments made for the 1953 Mount Everest expedition, have rivaled their synthetic counterparts in terms of insulation and moisture wicking performance. Likewise, old-world weaving and stitching methods such as waffling, ribbing, and tuck stitching to this day continue to deliver warmth, comfort, and range of motion essential for cold weather activities.

Layering Essential

The Classic Waffle serves as a perfect midlayer underneath our Classic Shell Jacket or Alpine Anorak.

Contemporary Detailing

Dynamic ergonomic ribbing allows for wide range of motion through the shoulders and elbows while the traditional square waffle knit traps heat close to the body, providing warmth on cool nights in the Alps and cold winter days.

THE STORY

It’s no secret that natural fibers, such as the custom Shetland wool garments made for the 1953 Mount Everest expedition, have rivaled their synthetic counterparts in terms of insulation and moisture wicking performance. Likewise, old-world weaving and stitching methods such as waffling, ribbing, and tuck stitching to this day continue to deliver warmth, comfort, and range of motion essential for cold weather activities. It is from these traditional methods of making that Alps & Meters introduces the Classic Waffle.

Woven in a familiar square waffle pattern which traps heat next to the body and coupled with ergonomic ribbing, the Classic Waffle delivers a Forged Performance package of timeless technologies ideal for use on-mountain or about town.

FORGED PERFORMANCE

Dynamic ergonomic ribbing allows for wide range of motion through the shoulders and elbows while the traditional square waffle knit traps heat close to the body, providing warmth on cool nights in the Alps and cold winter days, while also serving as a perfect midlayer under an Alps & Meters outerwear garment.

Perfect

This is a high quality and finely made sweater. I did not think they made this type of quality wool anymore. This is the best sweater I have purchased in more than 15 years. It is warm, tightly woven and fits perfect.

Wonderful Quality

It's so hard to find quality clothing, even the expensive stuff falls apart these days. What I can say about Alps and Meters is that the quality is wonderful. The seams are strong, the fabrics are durable, and everything they make feels so cozy. I'll definitely be buying more from them again.

I really like the sweater. Not that I should care, but I'm getting a lot of positive comments.
